01
The problem I saw
I had music in progress, but a private file did not require a final mix, a title, or a release choice. The work could remain almost finished.
02
What I built
I published an artist catalogue on Spotify. Slide City appears as the latest release. The page also shows FREEMAN, So Nice & Wonderful, and earlier work. I kept original tracks and named remixes on one artist page, including DAISIES (Ian Goh Remix).
03
What I learned
Publishing fixed one version in public and gave another person something complete enough to hear and judge.
PAIN POINTS
What the product addresses
- Tracks left in draft folders
- Different music experiments split across temporary identities
DECISIONS
Decisions that shaped it
- Keep original tracks and named remixes on one artist page instead of splitting the practice into separate identities.
- Release a finished version even when another mix could still be made.
- Let each title and cover stand on its own rather than forcing one commercial genre story.
LEFT OUT
What I deliberately did not build
- Waiting for a full album before releasing individual tracks.
MEASURES
What I would measure
- Time between deciding a track is ready and publishing it.
- Listener saves and repeat plays by release.
EVIDENCE AND BOUNDARIES
What this note is based on
- The public Spotify artist page was inspected on 21 July 2026. It showed Slide City, FREEMAN, So Nice & Wonderful, and DAISIES (Ian Goh Remix), among other releases.
- The public page did not expose listener, revenue, or completion data. This note makes no claim about audience size or commercial performance.
